Spread of the Foodborne Pathogens and Food Safety

Food safety is an essential and growing public health problem for all over the world. Foodborne diseases caused by microbial pathogens represent serious threats to the health of millions of people. Serious outbreaks of foodborne diseases are documented every year with ever-increasing concern. Foodborne diseases not only significantly affect people’s health, but they also have social and economic consequences. This paper presents information about source of foodborne diseases and foodborne pathogens. One of the leading causes of bacterial diarrheal illness is Campylobacter. There are discussed the epidemiological studies and prevention methods of the foodborne diarrheal disease caused by this pathogen.
