Development of Disaster Assessment, Prognosis and Control Systems in the Upper Part of the River Rioni (including the River Tskhenistskali)

Upper part of River Rioni basin (including the River Tskhenistskali) with the distribution of natural processes in terms of adverse effects is one of the most difficult regions in our country. The region's complex geological nature and strong differences in physical - geographical conditions promote the diversity of geodynamic processes. In the Region the development-activation of natural geological processes always occurred, but was certain periods of extreme activation and recurred on average every 8-12 years. During last period activation frequency has been violated and their evidence in above a background is almost every year. The reason of this is the increase of elements stimulating negative meteorological elements and earthquakes in non-stationary regime, and high level of human pressing in geological environment. Therefore it is important identification of each hazardous geodynamic processes, determination their origin and development, risk assessment and elaboration of protective-preventive measures.
