Water balance of Shaori – Tkibuli reservoir

Fresh water resources are one of the main wealth of Georgia. Georgia occupies an important place in the world with medium height of fresh water formed within one year. Excess of atmospheric precipitations, especially in the Black sea region, and mountainous landscape provides ideal conditions for that. For territorial distribution of water resources and water management it is important to use water reservoir efficiently. With water balance method it is possible to determine the amount of incoming ,outgoing and accumulated water in the water reservoir. One of the most important water cascade reservoirs is located in west Georgia. This is Shaori-Tkhibuli reservoir. These cascades are complex hydro-hub. All components of the water balance equation of reservoir is discussed: Surface water flow, groundwater flow, Returned water to agricultural use, which are directly incoming into the reservoir, precipitation, which are coming to the surface of the reservoir, the water drain through filtration. Water taking from a water supply, evaporation from the surface of the reservoir, changes reservoir water supply due to snow and ice and ect.. Research of balance items will be implemented by anthropogenic factors, and that will be presented picture closer to the reality.
