Electron density oscillations around impurity centers in quasi-one dimensional conductors

Annotation:

Fermi liquids constitute a broad class of Fermi systems which includes metals and etc. In this work we will discuss 3D Friedel oscillations of the density around an impurity center. Also we’ll bring in and calculate the local density of state (DoS). We’ll have brief overview of Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and the description of its working. We will discuss Green functions, calculate them and use for calculation of Friedel oscillations and DoS in 1D. Finally we will calculate Friedel oscillations and Dos for a two-chain ladder.
